ASIS International’s Worldwide Operations

ASIS International is the largest organisation for security professionals, with more than 36,000 members worldwide.  Founded in 1955, ASIS International is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests. ASIS International also advocates the role and value of the security management profession to business, the media, governmental entities, and the public.  By providing members and the security community with access to a full range of programs and services, and by publishing the industry's number one magazine – Security Management – ASIS International leads the way for advanced and improved security performance.

The organisation administers three certification programs.  The Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation indicates board certification in security management, and is recognised worldwide as the highest recognition accorded a security practitioner.  Two technical certifications have been added recently: the Physical Security Professional (PSP) and the Professional Certified Investigator (PCI).

ASIS International in Australia

Active members of ASIS International operate in all Australian states and territories.  Chapters of ASIS International have operated for many years in NSW, Victoria and Western Australia.  Queensland is in the process of raising its own chapter.
